Residence: Greene Township, Greene County, PA, to circa December 1840; Jefferson Township, Greene County, PA, circa December 1840-1870. m.(1) circa 1831 to Margaret Clendaniel (born 1810, d/o Samplus Clendaniel and his wife, Catherine- died before 1860). Margaret is a sister of George D. Yoders' [M23] 2nd wife, Mary Clendaniel. At the time of the 1850 Census, Joseph's household included Margaret's parents, Samplus and Catherine Clendaniel. m.(2) circa 1850 to Amelia Roseberry (born 20 May 1815 in Greene County, PA; daughter of Elijah Roseberry and his wife, Elizabeth Swan). First two children probably born in Greene Township, Greene County, PA, last three in Jefferson Township, Greene County. Joseph died before 1880.

(w2) 25 December 1852 at Amity, Amwell Township, Washington County, PA to Andrew Jackson SANDERS (born 2 February 1828 in Amity, s/o Jacob Ayers Sanders and Mary Deuberry - died early morning 26 January 1917, aged 88 years, in Deep River, Jackson Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa - funeral at Methodist Church, Barnes City, Mahaska County, Iowa). We do not know whether John, M282, was married or had issue. Because Robert L. Yoders was residing in Missouri at the time of the 1880 Census and had a 4 year old daughter born in Missouri, it seems highly unlikely that either of these 2 infants are his children. Jacob was residing with his wife, Isabella, and a 3 year old son in West Findley Township, Washington County per the 1880 Census.

Benjamin Yoder, Penn Township, Snyder County (part of Northumberland County from 1772 - 1813). Benjamin died by 15 November 1801, intestate. Survivors were his wife, Elizabeth, and children: Melchior, Catherine, Elizabeth, all under 14. Letters of administration on his estate were granted to "Mary Yoter and John Yoter" on 15 November 1802.
