Residence: Aleppo Township, Greene County, PA 1836-1850; Richhill Township, Greene County, PA, 1859-1865; Marshall County, WV, circa 1866-1878; Jackson, Seneca County, Ohio, 1879-1919. m.(1) 1853 in PA to Mary Jane Leonard - 4 children born of this union; m.(2) 18 December 1863 in Greene County, PA to Mrs. Barbara E. William, aged 63 years, was the sole survivor of his mother's four (4) Yoders children at his father's death in May 1919. In the 1920 Census Benjamin Yoders, grandson aged 15 years and Helen Yoders, granddaughter aged 9 years (with their father Charles L. Yoders, M26141) and Nellie Yoders Bain, niece aged 6 years were also listed in this household. In the 1930 Census, Nellie Yoders Bane, niece, age 17 years, is also listed in this household.

Residence: 11 Ninth Street, McMechen, Marshall County, WV, to 1939. m. 17 July 1902 in McMechen to Neila Iota Keller (born 24 August 1879 in Glendale, Marshall County, WV, d/o William H. Keller and his wife, Julia Grill - died 6 April 1969, aged 89 years, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glendale, Marshall County). James died 4 May 1939, aged 61 years, of blocked blood vessels to the lungs, pneumonia and peritonitis following surgery in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, Ohio County, WV. Following James' death, Neila married Elmer E. VANAMAN who subsequently died in 1963. Neila was a long-time member of the First Church of God and the Ladies Hope Bible Class in McMechen. Francis is thought to have been an engineer and a colonel in the U.S. Army. He is thought to have remarried after Nelva's death and had a son and a daughter; the daughter, who resides near Chicago, had twins in 2001. Nelva died at a relatively young age; her resting place has not been found.
