John Yetter 1750 - 1823

 

1 John Yetter

John was born about 1750. He married Catharine. John was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census in Lower Smithfield township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. The 1790 census also indicated the number of free white males of 16 years and upward, including the heads of familes was listed as 1, free white males under 16 years was 4 and free white females including heads of families was 4.

He made a will August 1823 in Middle Smithfield township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. John died about August 1823 in Middle Smithfield township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania, at age 73. The will of John Yedder of Middle Smithfield Township, Pike County, now Monroe County, was dated August 1823 and probated on September 15, 1823 and is on file at the Courthouse in Milford, Pike County, Pa. The estate was settled on March 3, 1830. 11 Children are mentioned and wife Catharine died in 1835 aged 77years. The following children were listed: Magdalena Yetter received $150, husband of Jacob Kemmerer, Child of daughter Mary Cortright, wife of James, child of daughter Catharine Cortright $100, wife of Levi, Jacob received $100, he married Margaret, John received $100 who married Magdalena Strauss, Joseph Yedder received $100, Abraham Yedder received $100 who married Judith Transue, grandchild child of son Adam $50, son Isaac received $100, son Daniel received $100, son Henry received $100 who married Elizabeth and then Christina.

2 Mary Yetter

She married James Cortright.

2 Catharine Yetter

She married Levi Cortright.

2 Joseph Yetter

A Joseph Yetter is known to have been born between March 1785 and March 1787 and died March 2, 1858 in Upper or Lower Mount Bethel township, Northampton County, Pa. This Joseph married a Susanna born September 8, 1792 and died January 12, 1867. It is not yet know if this Joseph was the son of John and Catharine.

2 Magdalena Yetter

Magdalena was born March 24, 1770. She married John Jacob Kemmerer before October 1799. Magdalena died March 30, 1840 in Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania, at age 70. The Hamilton Church records indicate Magdalene Kemmerer died at age 60 years and 6 days on March 30, 1840.
Magdalena's body was interred about April 1, 1840.

3 Joseph Kemmerer

Joseph was born June 9, 1800 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Joseph was christened September 13, 1800 in Hamilton Church, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth. Joseph was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. Joseph and Elizabeth Kemmerer and family were living in Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pa, when the 1850 census was taken. Joseph was listed as a farmer and Henry a laborer. Joseph was living a couple of doors away from his brother John and family.

Joseph died 1889 at age 89.

3 Catharina Kemmerer

She married (hogenschild) Hohenschild. Catharina died at age unknown. Catharina was born September 15, 1801 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Catharina was christened October 11, 1801 in Hamilton Church, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania.

3 Magdalena Kemmerer

Magdalena was born April 10, 1803 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Magdalena was christened June 12, 1803 in Hamilton Church, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. She married Jacob Metzger. Magdalena died July 8, 1855 at age 52. Magdalena's body was interred about July 9, 1855 in Mt Zion Cemetery, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. The tombstone reads: "Our Mother Mary M wife of Jacob Metzger Born April 10, 1803 Died July 8, 1855 Aged 52 Yrs, 2 Mos & 28 Days".

3 Anna Kemmerer

Anna was born May 26, 1805 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Anna was christened July 28, 1805 in Hamilton Church, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. She married George Bittenbender in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Anna died September 12, 1874 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, at age 69. Anna's body was interred About September 13, 1874 in Mt Zion Cemetery, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. The tombstone reads: " Anna wife of George Bittenbender Born May 23, 1805 Died Sept 12, 1874 Aged 69 Yrs 3 Mos & 19 Ds".

3 Peter Kemmerer

Peter was born June 11, 1815 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Peter was christened August 20, 1815 in Hamilton Church, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. He married Sally Hohensheld. Peter died 1875 at age 60. Peter's body was interred 1875 in Cherry Valley Cemetery, Stroud township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania. The tombstone reads: "Peter Kemmerer 1815 - 1875 and Wife Sally Hohensheld 1813 - 1869".

2 Jacob Yetter

Jacob was born 1782. He married Margaret. Jacob died June 28, 1866 in Middle Smithfield township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania, at age 83. Jacob's body was interred about June 30, 1866 in Middle Smithfield Presbyterian, Coobaugh, Mon. The tombstone indicates Jacob died at the age of 84 years.


2 John Yetter

John was born About 1785. He married Magdalena Strauss about 1809. John died December 16, 1862 at age 77. From notes from Geri Brennan who does a lot of Monroe County research, gerifelker@webtv.net, the following was written: John and Margaret (Strauss) Yetter, settled in Hamilton township and later mved to Smithfield and made their home along the Marshall Creek. John was a wheelwright and died in 1862 leaving a widow and 4 childre.

2 Abraham Yetter

Abraham was born January 19, 1788. He married Judith Transue. Abraham died June 2, 1862 at age 74.

2 Adam Yetter

Adam was born August 25, 1794. Adam was christened October 19, 1794 in Hamilton Church, Hamilton township, Monroe county, Pennsylvania.

2 Daniel Yetter

Daniel was born about 1804. He married Catharina Miller.
